INTERNSHIP DIARY

Time flies, Lala has just completed her Term 5 at CAA – Culinary Arts Academy. Having done her first internship in Switzerland, this time Lala decided to return to her home town for a while to do her second internship at a newly open Ritz Carlton Mandapa, Bali, one of those new opening hotels which become talk of the hoteliers around the world! Moreover, Lala has secured 1 year job in USA as her first career after graduation next year. 
Very well done......All the best to our Chef Lala..........

Falya Renaldi, who has just completed Term3 of her Culinary Art study at CAA (Culinary Arts Academy) has got a confirmation from Hotel Kempinski Geneva for her first internship.

This, will no doubt, is a valuable internship experience for Falya to be able to do it at a such prestigious place.

Meggy Yao, ex SinarMas World Academy,

arrived at SHMS in February 2015, recently

was awarded a letter below by SHMS Board

for her excellent academic result.

Furthermore, she has got accepted to do her

first internship at The Grand Dolder, 
a 5 star hotel in Zurich, Switzerland.

Another girl also newly arrived at IHTTI in February 2015, Theressa Gracia ex St. Peter school,

has got 2 job offers for her first internship. She felt that 

Scotland is not quite suitable for her personality,

so she decided to take up F&B service staff position 

at Ritz Carlton in Portugal.

Monica, after her first internship as F&B service staff at

Eurotel Riviera in Switzerland, made up her mind

to fly to another continent, USA for her second internship. 

She would like to explore different culture

and new challenge as Front Office staff. 

She got the job offer at Hotel St. Regis, Monarch Beach, USA.

You are amazing Monica…..Enjoy beautiful beach and 

sunshine in USA for a while.....
She will return to her second home sweet home, SHMS for semester 5 in September 2015.

Student’s First Career in Hospitality World – Valenciana Utari

Flashback to almost 4 years ago when I first met Valenciana :

a bit quiet but pleasant and pretty girl.

She  told me she wanted to do hospitality Management study at SHMS Switzerland and she would use this world recognised hospitality education as a bridge for her future.
Her goal is to fly to USA for her first real career. 

Valen has made her dream comes true as she managed to get a Management Trainee position at

Hyatt Regency Orlando, USA which has 1,600 rooms….what a challenge to face….

Tamara Inggrid Geraldine (ex SMA Methodist3 Medan,

A very brave move she did, she spent last Christmas holidays in a small town, Lyon, France, to improve her French language.

And now, her first internship, she is doing it as F&B service staff at restaurant L’Auberge de Cendrillon inside the Disneyland Paris where she must speak French everyday!

 
She is so lucky that she can meet Cinderella , Snow White, Belle and many others everyday…

While Tamara & other service staffs serve the guests with food, Cinderella & the others

greet the guests, perform dances etc….very lovely eating atmosphere..

Carolyn (ex SMA Methodist 2 Medan, now semester 2 @ SHMS)

She got accepted at a very prestigious workplace, United Nations office in Geneva…wow…

Carolyn will get familiar with such a protocol air work environment, serving world important people…

Janice Wongso (ex SMIP St Theresia, semester 4 @ SHMS )

She did her first internship at Disneyland Paris as commis Chef

and now she returns to Paris again as front desk officer

at  5 star palace hotel – Le Royal Monceau.

C’est super Janice!

Lia, she chose a very exotic workplace far away from  Indonesia and Switzerland……

Dubai….Lia who is originally from Bali, will be able to enjoy beautiful beaches in Dubai..

Dyo did his first internship in Bvlgari hotel in Bali. He did all aspects related to F&B, he was in the bar, restaurant , room service and banquet.

As for his second internship, Dyo chose a unique place in USA, Old Edwards Inn which is located in North Carolina.

Here, Dyo will practice all aspects related to rooms division : front office, concierge, as well housekeeping coordinator.

A really excellent chance to put into real practice of all aspects of a hotel operation. Good luck Dyo….

Erningdyah Ruth (Erin) ex SMAN78 

(the very right) took the role as country leader 

for INDONESIA in the annual big event International Day 

held at SHMS which led the team to get an award for Best Hospitality. Erin will serve SHMS for her 2^nd internship.

After many activities during 2 Terms at CAA,

Lala will practice her culinary skills learned to date into
a real practice.

She has secured a job to do her first internship in Brig,

in German speaking region of Switzerland.....

Cindy Gani, SHMS graduate,  upon returning  to Jakarta, secured her first employment at Hotel Mulia. 

She was trusted  to be Reception Manager at a newly opened luxurious Orient8 luxurious restaurant. After spending almost 2 years, she recently is assigned to make another success for a newly open outlet, Table8.  

Last updated, she has moved to Banquet Department.

Flashback…..Nia did her first internship at Disneyland USA….only after 1 semester at SHMS Swiss, she decided to fly all the way to USA to meet the real Mickey and Minnie…who doesn’t want to have such a great experience?! Where is she now, Nia?? Wait for the upcoming news about her!

Benk Benk ( Benny Bramantyo) alumni of DCT left Indonesia again  for the 2^nd year with Holland America Cruise Line sailing up to Alaska….!!  Till we meet again Benk Benk ...
